How to play

Omaha (PLO) rules

Omaha deals four hole cards. At showdown you must use exactly two hole cards and three board cards — the key difference from Hold’em.

Three differences from NLH

Four hole cards

Each player gets four hole cards, not two. More combinations, more draws.

Exactly two hole cards

Your hand must use exactly two hole cards and three board cards. Not one, not three.

Pots run larger

More draws keep players to the river. That is variance, not a guarantee.

Remember: two + three

  1. 1

    Pick two hole cards

From four hole cards, only two enter the final five.

  2. 2

    Plus three board cards

Use exactly three of the five community cards.

  3. 3

    Then rank the hand

Rankings match Hold’em (royal flush highest). See the rankings page.

What PLO means

PLO means Pot-Limit Omaha: raises are capped by the pot. Lobby labels like PLO4/PLO5 refer to hole-card count; this page covers the common four-card Omaha. Stakes and table rules follow the app.
